There is an ad out there in advertising land that says I am giving away 4 free studio sessions. These can be used for families, babies, maternity, couples and individuals.
All you have to do is be 1 of the first 4 to call me at 717-541-0681 and tell me what publication you saw the ad in as well as a description of the ad and you’ll receive a free photography session in my studio (a $125 value).
Madison’s 4 month session was sort of a mixed bag. She wasn’t in the best of moods so we weren’t able to spend too much time with her although the portraits we did create turned out great.
The difference between her 4 month session and now her 8 month session was night and day. I am not sure but I think 8 month sessions are my favorite. I’ll keep you updated on that but for right now 8 month old babies are always just too cute. Madison was all too happy to get her portraits taken and hit us with her pretty smile and her gorgeous almond shaped eyes.
I don’t think she realized we were taking photos because she had too much fun paying attention to her mommy and daddy.
See ya at your 1 year session Madison.

Julia visited my studio recently. Usually I like when I get newborn babies to sleep because I can get some really great images when they are asleep and don’t realize how what we are doing to them and pretty pliable. Usually this is because a newborns baby’s eyes look glazed over and are, in my opinion, photography slightly weird.
Occasionally, a newborn visits my studio who will not sleep or stay asleep. Julia was certainly intent on showing us her brand new peepers. Fortunately for us her eyes didn’t have that glazed over look I am used to seeing. So I was really happy when I saw this image on the back of my camera and couldn’t wait to share it with you.

I wanted to share this one of Colin. It is not often that I get to photograph school age children. He really like having his photo taken and really knew how to work my camera. Thanks Colin, you are a great big brother!

I cannot tell you how many phone calls I have had since the end of the summer trying to book date for the end of this year and all of 2010 for weddings and Bar/Bat Mitzvahs that had to be turned away because I was already booked.

If you are even thinking about the remote possibility of hiring me as your photograopher and are really still in denial about your son or daughter approaching that big age or that your wedding day is fast approaching please remember that photographers will book 1-2 years in advance. Even the great DJ’s and catering companies will book that far in advance as well.

Now that doesn’t mean that if you have a last minute event you SHOULDN’T call me. Please do. There are always open dates in my schedule. I never work 52 weekends a year. Whew, I think my head would be in an eternal spin. I do, however, stop booking events for a year after 30 events. So I keep a lighter schedule on purpose so I can still deliver the outstanding quality and service my family of clients are asking for.

So there are still just a few dates left in 2010. If you have a date please call and ask about 2010 and we can check your date for you. To all others 2011 is starting to get blitzed with calls so if you are entertaining the idea of a photographer please do call me at 888-517-6374 right now to check your 2011 date. We make sure to get all of your details in order and I’ll schedule a time to meet you and show you more examples of what you see and get when using Josh Barry Photography Inc as your photographer.

Remember waiting until the last minute only leave you with a few choices for vendors because most will be booked by then. Don’t be left stressing out over the details of your event when you can take care of them early and get them out of the way now.
Talk to you soon!

wow i found the right password to log back in to my blog. Woohoo!
Back to the blog.
You’ve met Harper before. She is a member of my ‘watch-Me-Grow’ program where she visits me at newborn, 4, 8, and 12 months old for a session with me. Well this was her 8 month old session. She certainly was in good spirits today and had help from her big brother Colin to keep her in a cheery mood. Younger siblings seem to always love their older siblings.
My daughter who is now 2 LOVES her older sister, Hannah, who is 9 right now. She gets into all her stuff, copies her, squeals when she sees her. So glad they get along. I think if there were much closer in age it wouldn’t be like that and they would end up rumbling around like me and my brother did when we were young. He and I were only 2 years apart and for the life of me and don’t know why my parents allowed us to live after what me and my brother got into. Whew.
Well no more delay, here is a sneak of Harper’s session.

ok first I know what you are thinking.
“You have time to post this but not update your blog on your sessions!!!!”
I know I know I am deserving of a good tongue lashing by all of you. To help make up for it I have updated the main part of my website recently so if you take a look around there you will see plenty of new and amazing portraits. I promise though I am now getting my head above water with catching up and dealing with some other family matters so I will be going through and updating the blog with my sessions. (End excuse paragraph).
Ok so on September 20th you may have read the Sunday edition of the Patriot News. In the middle of the paper, as a beautiful glossy insert, you may have caught a glimpse of the ‘Wedding Style Guide’ by The Patriot News.
I was interviewed as well as Bob Bossinger, a friend of mine and another amazing photographer, for the article written by Barbara Trainin Blank.
It was an interview where we talked about how to find the right photographer for your wedding. We also touched on trends and other things concerned with wedding photography. Here is a link to the PDF of the article if you’d like to read it.
ENJOY!

On December 24th 2008 Mike Pachino proposed to Nina Swartz.
Their wedding is on November 21st 2009.
I have the privilege of being their photographer on their special day. Mike is from Baltimore, Maryland and Nina is from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Their wedding will be at temple Beth-Am in Philadelphia.
As a part of their wedding collection I always photograph engagement portraits prior to their wedding. We had a great time walking around Fells Point in Maryland. We created some fantastic images and their connection and love is obvious.
Congratulations Mike and Nina
Meriellyn had a great party. Hand down, a fun time for everyone. I ALWAYS have fun no matter what I am doing and where I am photographing but at this party I HAD A LOT OF FUN.
Everyone was dressed nice and danced hard. Here are just a few of my many many favorites.

This is Colonel Jesse Crone and his son the talented pianist, Evan. Evan is living is San Diego and flew in to to Harrisburg to visit his family. He found me on the internet while in San Diego and wanted something special with he and his father before leaving Harrisburg to return to San Diego. Here are a couple from the session.
I must add that Colonel Crone is quite the charismatic guy. He loves to dress nice and eat at nice restaurants. He seems not to care about his age and makes it clear the age is just a state of mind. I hope I get around like he does when I am a senior. Hats off to the Colonel Crone.

This was my first time up at Congregation Keneseth Israel in Allentown. The shule, although small, was beautiful all over with natural light everywhere to play with. This portraits below was taken using window light only. Oh and Aaron was not shy at all. He was a lot of fun and had some ideas of his own. I liked his outgoing personality. Not afraid of the camera at all was Aaron.
