Off to the Outer Banks!!!

Writing by Josh Barry on Saturday, 19 of July , 2008 at 4:48 pm

Just letting everyone know that I am off to North Carolina for a whole week!!!!

Yes!!!

I will return on Sunday the 27th. There is a very small possibility that I may win the lottery or find a bank bag full of money laying on the side of the road. If that's the case than I won't ever be returning to Pennsylvania. However, if I run out of money as expected by the end of the week I'll be back on the 27th =).

Below are some amazing landscape portraits from around the Outer Banks. These were taken by Bossinger Photography in Palmyra Pennsylvania. Should anyone need photography services while I am away please don't hesitate to call him. Here is his website http://www.bossingerphotography.com/. He does amazing work. His name is Bob and tell him Josh Barry sent ya!!

Lindsey’s Newborn Portraits/Photography

Writing by Josh Barry on Tuesday, 8 of July , 2008 at 12:18 am

Remember Corley and Gina Heiserman?

Photobucket title=

Well little Lindsey made it here with no problems a couple of weeks ago and has come back for her newborn session.

I'd like to take this moment and point out how great Corley is when it came to handling his new daughter. What I mean is he got pooped on and peed on and he didn't break a sweat. Well Gina didn't break a sweat either but luckily she wasn't the one with newborn poop on her shirt.

Other than that the session went fantastic and I can't wait to post more images after I am done mastering all of them first.

Here is a sneak preview.

Maternity Photography- Leslie and Troy

Writing by Josh Barry on Tuesday, 8 of July , 2008 at 12:01 am

Leslie and Troy came to us from Camp Hill Pennsylvania.

Very laid back and easy going Leslie and Troy came over to my studio over in Harrisburg for her maternity session. Her favorite color was blue , which we decided was probably a shade or two darker than electric blue. So off to Jo-Annes fabrics I went to search for the perfect blue. I came across this fabric which was INDIGO. I think it photographed PERFECTLY. I knew it would photograph darker than it actually looked to which I thought I would darken it even more in my mastering process I do in photoshop however I hardly had to touch it.

I think it was all lit very very well and Leslie's skin tones were a perfect match for this color. This will look AMAZING hanging in their home.

Photobucket title=

Also here is one of the both of them together. I like this dramatic moody look I have been playing with for the past few months.

Photobucket title=

I know Leslie will be happy to see a preview of some of these images. She wasn't too happy with me when I was teasing her by showing a photo or two to Troy from the back of my camera and not to her.

You're a good sport Leslie.

Dave and Dina’s Wedding. Camp Shoresh. Adamstown, Maryland

Writing by Josh Barry on Tuesday, 1 of July , 2008 at 10:01 am

So much fun….so much dancing. Shlock Rock was amazing and kept the guests moving all night long.
I wanted to share one quick one with everyone. This was taken at the end of the night right when we had one last glimmer of sunlight at the horizon line.

If you look really close you might be able to see Dina wearing her crocs under her wedding dress! =)

Dina and David were so much fun the whole night. Their stamina (and their guests as well) was far beyond what I could handle if I were to dance as much as they did. What a night!

What did he say?

Writing by Josh Barry on Tuesday, 24 of June , 2008 at 5:22 pm

Ok this has nothing to do with photography but as an avid you tube explorer I occasionally find things that make me lose all consciousness from losing the necessary oxygen needed to stay awake from laughter.

I bring you

Joe Cocker in all his marble mouth glory.

Every time I hear this I think of the Wonder Years with Fred Savage. C'mon guys raise your hand if you had a mini crush on Winnie Cooper.

Hillary-Senior Portraits

Writing by Josh Barry on Wednesday, 18 of June , 2008 at 11:37 am

After driving some ways to another town I met up with Hillary and my friends for a fun filled senior clinic. Hillary was our senior model. Very photogenic and very pretty. She was in such a great mood all day despite the swarm of paparazzi around her all day. Thanks Hillary.

PENNY IS HOME!!!!!!!! Stolen Dog No Longer!!!!!!!!

Writing by Josh Barry on Sunday, 15 of June , 2008 at 5:41 pm

After 12 days of running in the woods she was finally spotted and tracked down.

The same people that spotted her about 10 days ago are the same ones that caught her. I had put Penny's kennel in their back yard after they saw her the first time hoping she would be smart enough to stay around houses and water since there is a big pond and plenty of fresh water running in streams around that neighborhood. My theory proved right thankfully.

There is a side story to this though which is equally impressive. The nice people who saw Penny the first time, Cindy Lashinsky and Ben Fiereer saw her again yesterday. Ben said he spotted her way up on the hill moving around and decided (with some help from Cindy) to go running after her up the hill and through the woods.

Ben gave chase and Penny ran from him but eventually after realizing that Ben wasn't a threat AND seeing their yellow lab nearby decided to turn aruond and headed right for their dog.

They were so nice guys. Really. I came to see penny and they had already removed several ticks from Penny and gave me the rundown of all the things I'll need to do to get her healthy again and up to speed health-wise. She handed me shampoo, phone numbers for vets, a tick removing kit (which I am still using ) and a new collar for Penny. I think Cindy said she is an animal trainer so her knowledge on veterinary medicine seemed to be really extensive.

It was meant to be. They took such good care of her in such a short amount of time. I'm glad they found her.

Here is Penny with her welcome home present after her much needed bath.

Harrison Katz’s Bar Mitzvah Portraits/Photography

Writing by Josh Barry on Thursday, 12 of June , 2008 at 10:31 pm

Meet Harrison everyone.

I know you can't tell but at age 13 Harrison stands 5ft 10in tall. He plays center for his basketball team of at Linglestown middle school.

This weekend he will become a Bar MItzvah. Saturday is the service and then in the evening is the party!!!!

We had a good time creating the portraits today at Chisuz Emuna in Harrisburg, PA. His younger sister, Lauren had an especially good time making horror film noises over the microphone system. As her mom put it she hasn't met a microphone or camera she doesn't love. Nice to see she is warming up for me in 4 years!!!

Here are a couple of my favorites of Harrison from today.

Dave and Dina’s Engagement Portraits

Writing by Josh Barry on Tuesday, 10 of June , 2008 at 4:57 pm

I come from Harrisburg, they come from New Jersey yet we found ourselves in Frederick Maryland. LOL go figure.

Two things I want to share:

1) Frederick Maryland is sooooooooooooo beauftiful. Parts of it remind me a lot of Oklahoma City's Bricktown. I could have spent all day down there. Maryland is such a beautiful state all around. If it weren't for my family and friends up here I would definitely move down into Maryland.

2) Dave and Dina are set to get married June 29th 2008 at Camp Shoresh in Maryland. These two are fun to work with and you can obviously tell they have a strong connection between them. OK not trying to step on Dave's toes here but Dina's smile can lite up an underground cave. She is such a pretty girl and she's a sweetheart. Dave and Dina, congratulations on your wedding and I look forward to creating more great memories with you in a few weeks.

I forgot to mention that everyone that has seen these portraits so far thinks Dave looks like Dr. McDreamy from Grey's Anatomy. Ya know…Patrick Dempsey.

My wife is going to starngle me but after Dave left my house after meeting my wife for the first time she says "Is that your client?" I say "yeah why" To which she responds "He's hot!"

Haha heres to you "Dr McDreamy"

The rest of the Drag King Session-Portrait Photography Harrisburg

Writing by Josh Barry on Tuesday, 10 of June , 2008 at 12:47 am

This is another catch up I promised to do.

I loved how these turned out. She could have fooled another drag king into thinking she was a man. Her make-up skills were outstanding and her understanding of shadows was killer (yes I said killer).

Ella Faith- Natural Light Photography Newborn and Family Session

Writing by Josh Barry on Sunday, 8 of June , 2008 at 9:15 am

Meet Matt and Melinda Raback.

They come from us right in my own neighborhood. Small world. Mindy was looking on google for a photographer and found me. If I squint really hard I can see their back porch from my house LOL.

Mindy and Matt wanted something more natural and relaxed and wanted to show off a bit of their newborn daughter's room.

Their house is beautifully decorated which made everything easy for me. Mindy and Matt have great taste.

Ella was so pretty and so calm the entire time we photographed her. I think we could have tossed her in the air, hung her up-side down, played the radio really loud and she still would have stayed asleep.

Here are some from their session
